For five years, Kia Motors has been the fastest-growing automotive company in the United States. Offering a complete line of vehicles through more than 755 dealers throughout the U.S., Kia recorded its best-ever annual sales total in 2011. Yet, as many great commercial pioneers before it, Kia has done this with the understanding that growth does not come at the expense of philanthropy. It comes because of it.
That is why Kia has teamed up with Donorschoose.org to benefit more than 125,000 public school students nationwide. Kia has already made a $1 million commitment to public schools. Now, it is also set on launching an initiative that doubles this impact, designed to fund 50% of classroom projects near Kiaʼs network of showrooms, from its headquarters in southern California, to its assembly plants in western Georgia. All over the country, KIA Corporate Social Responsibility teaming up to commit to charity and ask for accountability.
Kiaʼs efforts will match community donations, where $2 million of classroom projects will come to life. The amount of children whose eyes will be opened, whose curiosity will be peaked, and whose opportunities will exponentially increase, however, is limitless.
